Meta-Dogmatism and the Labor of Attention
True reflexivity requires noticing when our cures reproduce the disease. A rigid distrust of generalization is itself a generalization; it preserves the structure of certainty while merely swapping the labels. Abstraction is only a “shortcut” when it is premature. When earned through sustained attention, abstraction is the only way to render a pattern visible. We must interrogate our intellectual habits: have we adopted a “critical method” simply to avoid the vulnerability of an unpatterned reality?
