On the Myth of Interiority
Language does not translate inner life; it gives inner life its shape. The name is the epistemological event that assembles bodily fragments into a coherent emotion. In this sense, the limits of my language are not the limits of my description, but the limits of my affective possibility. We must ask: which feelings remain unborn because our current social grammar lacks the names to house them?
